Pilot Assistant · Gmail integration

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 October 2026

This policy covers Pilot Assistant Gmail, a private, personal-use integration connecting an authorized Gmail account to an aviation briefing workflow.

Google data accessed

The importer requests the gmail.readonly permission. This permission can technically read mailbox messages and settings. In normal operation, the importer searches for matching Lido flight briefing emails, reads their details and downloads the relevant PDF briefing attachments. It does not send, change or delete email.

Purpose and use

Selected PDF attachments are checked, processed and converted into flight-plan information for the account owner's personal Pilot Assistant workflow. Gmail information is not used for advertising, marketing or profiling.

Storage and security

OAuth tokens are kept in a protected secrets directory on the private Synology NAS. Imported briefing files, generated JSON and related processing logs are kept on the NAS. The private Pilot Assistant application can access prepared briefing information through its protected interface. This public site contains no Gmail messages, tokens or flight plans and does not provide NAS access.

Sharing

The importer does not sell Gmail information or independently distribute mailbox contents to advertisers, data brokers or other users. Google provides the Gmail API. Cloudflare hosts these public information pages; these pages do not contain imported email data.

Retention, deletion and withdrawal

The NAS retains imported files, archives and processing records until the account owner removes them. The owner can delete stored data or OAuth credentials on the NAS, stop the importer and revoke access under their Google Account security settings.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs by Pilot Assistant Gmail will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used solely to provide the flight briefing functionality described here.

Questions and changes
